CTR: CONDITIONING. TECHNIQUE TRAINING. REHABILITATION

Learn how to decrease the risk of injury. Look after and strengthen your body, and increase your range of motion (leg height/turnout/backbends/flexibility) to turn better and find balance.

Incorrect or imperfect alignment of the bones, and imbalance in the muscles, are the cause of many injuries. CTR is a rehabilitation and exercise method that utilizes fascia release and stretching techniques, core strength, strength training, stretches, and breathing to restore balance in your body and muscles. CTR uses various assessment tools to analyze muscular imbalances. Alignment in dance steps is looked at and corrected. Proper ballet and dance techniques are thoroughly discussed from an anatomical and body functionality perspective to assist with and reduce injury and risk.

The founder of CTR specializes in rehabilitation, the correct movement patterns, and placement of the body while exercising and dancing. The concept derives from several training techniques, including Classical Ballet, Contemporary Horton and Martha Graham Technique, Pilates, Conditioning exercises, Muscles Activation, and Facia release and stretches. An essential aspect of CTR is that it focuses on re-training your neuromuscular (brain-body) connection, giving you better body awareness. More body awareness will, in turn, also decrease the risk of injuries and improve not only their dance technique but their everyday life and general well-being.

Students will learn to maintain a healthier body during the heavy load dancing can place on their bodies, how to move and stabilize their bones and joints from the correct muscle groups, and how to have more muscle balance and better balance when dancing.

Think of your body as a car that needs regular service; just like when a vehicle is well taken care of, your body, when looked after, will dance with more fluidity, power, and ease.
